International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) Special Seminar †
Dr. Takashi Yamano, Senior Scientist at the International Rice Research Institute, will give a series of special seminars on "Empirical Development Economics in Practice: from Survey Planning to Publication".
Dr. Yamano holds MS. in Agriculture from Hokkaido University and Ph.D. in Economics and Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University. Prior to joining IRRI, he was a professor of development economics at National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Tokyo, Japan.
He has published a number of high-quality articles in academic journals such as Journal of Development Economics and World Development. These works have contributed to alleviating poverty in Asia and African countries.
The seminar is an invaluable opportunity to learn how the world leading development economist conducts his research projects from survey planning to publication in practice. Researchers and graduate students, as well as advanced under graduate students, are all encouraged to join the seminar.
All the lectures will be given in English.
