We cope with controling the metabolic functions and exploring
the veiled metabolic functions of microorganisms in order to achieve
the basic knowledge that helps to produce valuable substances by microbial
fermentation efficiently and/or to establish new processes by enzyme reaction.
As the compounds produced by bioprocess, we target on the comparatively
high value-added compounds which are amino acids, organic acids,
optically-active compounds, for example.
In addition to that, we conduct basic research of bacterial flora in the human and animal intestine
by analyzing how it reacts to the stress of alimentary canal,
how it works on metabolism in alimentary canal and what kinds of bacteria it contains.
Through these researches, we serve the basic information for the probiotics development and
educate about the scientific understanding and utilizing bacterial flora.
