Research Interests †
- Master cources: I had been studying on the nutrient cycling in mixed conifer-broadleaf forests in Korea in relation to natural regeneration. I studied about soil CO2 efflux and soil environmental factors in the forest ecosystems of central Korea.
- Doctor cource: I would like to research the role of charcoal generated by the forest fire in the forest ecosystems, especially focusing on the effect on the belowground dynamics and gas emissions. Namely, I'd like to research the role of man-made and natural disturbances on the emission of greenhouse gases (e.g. CO2, CH4 and N2O) in cool temperate forests where many people are living in. My interest is also devoted to biological invasion as affected by disturbances. I will make clear the important role of soil environment in forest ecosystem in changing environment (i.e. Increasing CO2 and nitrogen deposition).
