1. Sciencing the soil
Soil is composed of inorganic substances such as sands and clay, organic matters from biological materials, small creatures like millipedes and earthworms, microorganisms such as molds and bacteria, as well as water and air. We pursue various phenomena happening in this lively space rich with variety, as well as looking into the characteristics of substances in it from the perspectives of soil physics, thermodynamics, physical chemistry, and colloid science.
2. Maintenance of agricultural soil
We carry out a research on ways to maintain agricultural soil which provides us with sustainable and rich blessings of the nature. In particular, technical measures are clarified by accumulating measurements taken diligently at agricultural lands from the perspectives of crop growth, quality and physical condition of soil, material circulation, and water circulation. Furthermore, in order to do this, theoretical/experimental results from related fundamental researches are applied.
3. Environmental measures for soil/water/atmosphere
We carry out a research into environmental measures for soil/water/atmosphere that would maintain the circulation loop around the soil in a sound state. We consider the results gained from field surveys and experiments logically, clarify mechanism of pollutant migration/accumulation and examine purification measures and pollution control measures.
