職歴: 2000年10月〜2008年10月.国際半乾燥熱帯作物研究所(ICRISAT)の研究員.

          インドは10年近く住んでいた第二の故郷! 2008年11月〜現在.北海道大学の専任講師として勤務中.

*コムギの乾燥抵抗性改善に関する研究コムギは世界3大穀物の一つで,人類の食料としてとても重要です.

もともと乾燥した環境に適した作物ですが,近年はコムギの栽培地域で,旱魃が頻発して,減収の被害が多くみられるようになってきました.

コムギの旱魃抵抗性を改善することは,世界の食糧問題に貢献するとても大切な研究課題です.

海外のコムギ系統も用いて,土壌水分を効率よく使って,厳しい旱魃環境でも収穫できるコムギ育成を目指して研究を行っています.
